Application IDs are necessary to publish your applications using the CraftAR SDKs. Once you have purchased the right plan, you can associate Application IDs to your collections in order to use the SDKs in your apps on the Android Google Play Store or the App Store.
For Android apps, the AppID is the package name, and for iOS, it’s the Bundle ID of your app.
You can associate Application IDs in two ways depending on the type of collection you are using:
- Cloud collections: Associate Application IDs to cloud collections
- On-device collections: Associate Application IDs to on-device collections
Associate Application IDs to cloud collections
In the side menu bar of the collection detail view in your CraftAR account, you can find a button named Manage AppIDs. This button opens a view that displays the Application IDs associated to the collection.
In order to associate new application IDs to the collection, click on the Add AppID button. A pop-up view will show up asking you to select one or more of your App IDs to associate them to the collection. If you don’t have App IDs yet or need to associate new ones, you can create them in the same view.
Fill the AppID with your application ID (e.g. “com.mycompany.my-app-id”) and the Name field to help you browse through them later. You can also associate an OS value in order to better identify your app in the Application IDs section. Then, click on Add and the Application ID will be ready to be associated. You can add more App IDs at this point.
When you are done selecting or creating the App IDs you want to associate, click on Associate App IDs and you are done.
Associate Application IDs to on-device collections
In the case of on-device collections, the Application IDs are a step necessary to generate on-device bundles. Select an on-device collection and go to the On-device Bundles section.
This section shows the list of associated Application IDs and the bundles created for each application IDs. Have a look at this tutorial for more details on managing bundles for on-device collections.
