Before you install
- Download CareAR .apk file by clicking 'Get it on Glass' from https://carear.app/#/download on your computer.
- Confirm Glass OS is on latest OS.
- Confirm Glass has USB debugging mode on. For help on this please view: Google Glass Enterprise Edition 2: Enable USB Debug
- Have a USB cable to communicate from your computer to Glass(USB-C)
- Chrome browser
Installing onto Google Glass Enterprise Edition 2
- Plug in the powered on Google Glass Enterprise Edition 2 unit (via USB) to your computer.
- Navigate to https://flash.android.com/tools/glass_apk_install (on Chrome)
- A pop up will display requesting access to the Google USB driver (if you do not have the driver you will be prompted with instructions to install this on your computer). Click 'Allow ADB access'
- Select device by clicking on the drop down menu and clicking on the device you would like to install onto. It will begin the auth pending process
- If this is your first time on this computer select this Smart Glass unit you may need to click the +Add Device button to make it available in device selection
- If this is your first time on this computer select this Smart Glass unit you may need to click the +Add Device button to make it available in device selection
- On the Smart Glass unit you will have to confirm the USB connection by tapping. This will update the Chrome side to Connected
- Select installation APK file downloaded from pre-requisites. Can drag and drop OR select from 'Select APK files' to navigate to the .apk file.
- Once both device and APK file is selected a button to install will appear. Click 'Install selected APK files'
- Agree to the terms and conditions to proceed
- A confirmation summary will appear, click 'Confirm' to proceed
- Chrome will now start the installation process. A prompt for USB debugging allow / deny will display on the Smart Glasses. Confirm the access on the Smart Glasses (tap) to allow the installation to occur.
- Once installation is complete a message will display on the browser and the CareAR Assist application will now be in the applications menu of the Google Glass Enterprise Edition 2 device.
