When a host of a CareAR Assist session extends an invitation over email the URL within the message will be in the format of:
https://carearjoin.page.link/<session invite information>
This URL when clicked will navigate the guest user to the session landing page in their configured web browser. However, in some instances this URL is not clickable in some email applications. Specifically email applications that utilize Exchange ActiveSync as the protocol that the email application utilizes to retrieve email from the email server.
When the email is retrieved using this protocol the Exchange ActiveSync determines which URLs should be displayed as clickable URLs from the configuration of 'ExternalURL' on the email server. This can only be modified by the email administrator of that email platform. The default behavior Exchange ActiveSync will parse the email and result in no match to the external URL schema (ie does not contain '.com'). As a result the URL may not present itself as being clickable. This URL itself is still valid and can still be copied from the email application and pasted into a web browser to continue joining the session as normal.
While an email administrator of the platform can also modify the server configuration an alternative to join the session would provide more immediate ability to join into a CareAR session. Using an alternative join workflow such as Join by Code could be utilized in this scenario as an alternative.
