1.1.1 Experience Translations
Experience translations are a way to translate a published experience with multiple translations to enable audiences that speak a variety of languages. Each experience can be made available in different languages but are still accessed via a single QR code or link. Users can then select their preferred language.
Supported Languages
- German
- English
- Spanish
- French
- Indonesian
- Italian
- Malay
- Brazilian Portuguese
- Portuguese
- Japanese
- Simplified Chinese
To create multiple translation copies of an experience, an Admin or Content Creator can access the translation menu at the top of the Experience Builder canvas. Once the experience has been completely built out, simply click on the translation menu to add a new translation. This makes a copy of the original experience and translates all the text in the experience to the new translated version. Simultaneously, the new experience translation is published and added as a selectable option in the language selection menu.
This feature gives the option to use machine translation to provide the automatic translation of text. Machine translation can sometimes have difficulty with text that is jargony or covers obscure topics. As a result, you may want to fine tune the translated output. Alternatively, disable machine translation and manually translate the experience. We always advise a review of the translated text to ensure it was properly conveys the intended meaning.
1.1.2 Video Subtitles
Subtitles are text displayed on screen while a video is playing and synchronized with the voice track in the video. Subtitles can be provided in various languages in order to help with user comprehension when the audio track of the video is not available in their native language. Users can choose to turn on subtitles and select their preferred subtitle language.
Admin and Content Creator users can add subtitles to any video contained in the experience by uploading a .vtt subtitle file with the video. Once attached to the video the user will have the option to turn on and off the subtitles during playback.
NOTE: The Experience Builder allows for providing links to YouTube videos. YouTube provides its own subtitle capability and must be used if you want to provide users with subtitles on YouTube hosted videos. Experiences containing Advanced Content must have the subtitle files included in the Advanced Content upload. Subtitles for Advanced Content are generated in .srt file format.
1.1.3 Advanced Content Publishing
Certain types of experiences contain content require that CareAR content team to produce. This content is referred to as Advanced Content. When the CareAR content team has created an experience containing Advanced Content, any Admin or Content Creator can upload this content through the Experience Builder in order to publish it.
From the Experience Builder, Advanced Content is represented on the canvas as an Advanced Content tile. You can obtain the direct link to the experience by clicking on the Link icon at the top of the Advanced Content tile. This can be used with the Web API.
1.1.4 Element Spacing Adjustment
You can now change the spacing between elements on a page in the Experience Builder. This allows Admins and Content Creators to easily customize the look of their page by adding space between elements. Simply hover your mouse over the border between elements and a blue shaded area will appear. Clean and drag the blue area to increase or decrease the spacing.
1.2 Instruct Web App
1.2.1 Improved 3D Rendering of Reflections
The rendering of certain 3D models that have reflective surfaces has been improved. Objects with reflective surfaces will not appear more realistic. No changes required to use this feature. It is automatically applied to 3D models that have reflective surfaces.
1.2.2 Search Behavior Change
Search no longer provides search results if no search query has been provided. Only have a search query has been provided will the page display search results. To make this more intuitive a new image and on screen instructions are provided to prompt the user to enter a search.
2 Known Issues
Experience Size Limitations
In some situations, experiences that grow large may result in an error publishing the experience. This typically affects experiences with a large amount of text. Images, videos, and 3D models do not impact the size. We recommend periodically publishing your experience to avoid any loss of data.
