Release 25.01 of the CareAR App delivers the following enhancements:
- Scan Enhancement: ML Model Test Mode
- Scan Enhancement: Image count for captured and total
- Search Enhancement: Support searching with a single Japanese character
Note that release 25.01 is the last release of the desktop app, as we make our End of Life notice for the app.
SCAN ENHANCEMENT: ML MODEL TEST MODE
Prior to release 25.01, content creators and admins who use the Scan functionality of the CareAR iOS mobile app would need to incorporate the ML model into an Experience to perform initial testing.
With release 25.01, once an ML model has been created, a user can now test the model using the CareAR iOS mobile app. Running the test downloads the selected ML model, activates the camera, and displays the object detection, allowing the user to detect the labels that were created for the model.
SCAN ENHANCEMENT: IMAGE COUNT FOR CAPTURED AND TOTAL
The Scan functionality of the CareAR iOS mobile app involves processing images locally on the iOS device. Because different iOS devices are equipped with varying hardware processing capabilities, the total number of images that can be processed in a single scan varies per device.
With release 25.01, we've included additional information to indicate the count of total images captured and the total images that the specific iOS device is capable of processing. It's important to note that these limits are imposed by Apple and not by CareAR.
SEARCH ENHANCEMENT: SUPPORT SEARCHING WITH A SINGLE JAPANESE CHARACTER
Prior to release 25.01, we required a minimum of 3 characters to be entered to perform a search. Because the Japanese language carries a lot of information in a single character, we have enabled search to be possible with a single Japanese character on the CareAR mobile app.
