OVERVIEW
To better assist customers who operate in highly secure environments, or where data capture needs to be carefully controlled or managed. CareAR includes the ability to set permissions for the following CareAR Assist features at the persona, or system role level:
- snapshots
- download snapshot to local device
- video recording
- Screenshare
The standard system roles include tenant administrator, analyst, content creator, general, and guest user. For more information and a comparison of user roles, see. Comparison of User Roles – CareAR.
CONFIGURATION
CareAR Assist Persona Based privileges are configured by the Tenant Administrator. These Permissions can be found by expanding the Users Tab within the CareAR Portal and selecting Roles.
From this page, the Administrator may select/deselect any of the following permission for any given CareAR Role. This will control what CareAR Assist features any given user will have access to given their role.
Allow Snapshot
Disabling ‘Allow Snapshot’ for any given user role, will disallow that user role from using the CareAR Assist snapshot feature during a CareAR Assist session.
Allow Media Download
When using the CareAR Assist snapshot feature, by default, snapshots will save to the user's configured save folder on their local device. Additionally, snapshots will be saved to the CareAR Portal. Disabling ‘Allow Media Download’ will prevent snapshots from being saved to the local device during the CareAR Assist session, however snapshots will still be saved to the CareAR Portal and be retrievable by an authenticated user.
Allow Recording
Disabling ‘Allow Recording’ will disallow any given user role the ability to start a recording during a CareAR Assist Session. Recording will need to be enabled and configured within the Amazon S3 Connector for this feature to be available.
Allow Screen Share
Disabling ‘Allow Screen Share’ will disallow any given user role the ability to share their screen during Assist sessions.
Note: Changes made to privilege permissions require app users to log out and log back in for the changes to take effect. Also, the guest role does not have the “Allow Recording” checkbox available as this is only applicable to authenticated users in the system.
ADDITIONAL NOTES
For a user that has an account (i.e., a username) in the tenant, when they are invited to a session, the role or profile permissions for the General user will apply. They will not be treated as a Guest. Further, if any user is invited to a session and that user is not a member of the host’s tenant, that user will be treated strictly as a Guest.
